Master class with Masterchef

Representatives from two Auckland salons were recently treated to an indulgent evening with Master Chef judge George Calombaris at his prestigious Press Club restaurant in Melbourne.

Schnips PHD Manukau and Bogaarts were two of nine salons from across New Zealand and Australia that were rewarded for outstanding retail success in the KMS California SMART programme with the "money can't buy" experience.

The lucky group was shown the recipe for Calombaris' tuna tartare and how to make ravioli from scratch. Then for dessert he plated up an amazing chocolate dish from his Mediterranean-inspired menu. Finally it was on to the eight-course degustation menu with matching wines, enjoyed in his private dining room.

On welcoming the group George said “I love my profession as I get to watch my client’s expressions as they eat my creations. It’s like hairdressing, when you create beautiful hair you also get to see the delight on your client’s faces as they enjoy their new look.”
